Communication in a family
One more stereotype is "a woman needs more communication than a man". Simply a man and a woman understand the meaning of communication in a different way. A woman is sure that chatting is communication. A man values the content, not the form. So, for example, when he is dining and she is telling him about everything in the world, a woman thinks that it is the needed communication. A man considers it to be just a feminine twaddle. But if she starts speaking about his new job or a new article about sex positions, well, it turns to be the communication. In her turn, a woman gets pleasure of the process itself.
A woman uses the communication as an opportunity to relax, in such a way she tries to keep an emotional connection with her partner. Perhaps, at the same time he thinks "When will you keep silence at last?".
Anyway, male attitude to the chatting is very different as well. I have a male friend who used to ask about everything in the world and share with his own opinions. The most interesting thing is that he can do it for hours. My personal record is five hours in a raw.
